2019 UNI-SDJU Bilateral Student Leaders'Forum

On the afternoon of September 30, 2019, 13 students from SDJU went to UNI and after nearly 15 hours of flying, we arrived at Chicago on October 1.Although it was raining when we reached school,we still had the first happy night with teachers and students from UNI.

On the second day, we visited the campus with UNI student representatives . We saw a lot of students wearing the clothes with the logo of UNI,which let us personally feel the strong cultural atmosphere of this century-old campus. Then we enjoyed Walking Taco in the afternoon. It is a kind of novel and interesting food which is never seen in China.

At 3 p.m ,we went to CBB Hall and began to start 2019 UNI-SDJU Bilateral Student Leaders’ Forum. Teachers and students from UNI extended a warm welcome to us. Then UNI student representatives introduced us UNI history, curriculum and club activities, etc. In the other side,we also introduced the general situation of the school and the current development of Shanghai to them. At the end of the forum, we exchanged presents to each other. We hope we can enhance our friendship and broaden our vision through this exchange.

After diner, we went back to CBB Hall and started happy Recyling Can Painting Competition.

At the end of the trip, the weather finally cleared up and we drove to John Deere Museum for a visit. After watching the three-minute short film, we learned that John Deere is leading supplier of advanced products and services in the field of agriculture and forestry. Due to its features of advanced equipment, intelligence and efficiency, it has been widely used in the field of agriculture and forestry all over the world, including China, and has been well received by users. In the afternoon,we came to Hansen Dairy. There are many cows , kangaroos and sheep. We experienced  the process of milk production, feeding newborn cows, milking cows and making our own butter. These all new interactive experiences are that we couldn't experience in the city.

On the last day, we went to Pikes Peak State Park for a picnic. As we ate sandwiches on the Mississippi River, we chatted with the UNI students about the past few days, which capped off the exchange.

Although this exchange only last for a few days, it was because of these days that we have broadened our horizon, seen the scenery we cannot see in daily life, felt the different campus culture, and more importantly, made new friends with UNI. We look forward to meeting you again in March next year.

Finally, on the occasion of the 70th birthday of the mother of the motherland, all members of the student leadership group wish the motherland a prosperous and strong future!
